Fink,new PDB

I wish all these package managers died,in favor of one single PM to rule them all. I can only think of one reason which makes this impossible:stubborn developers.

1) what made you so mad?
2) fink is not about managing packages. It’s about porting packages to macos-x realities (manging is still made by apt-get and dpkg)

I wasn’t mad,I just really think that one good PM should be enough. OSX might really be a special case,although I’m not sure about it,but even in the Linux world there’s just too many. I think that with proper management,one package repository would be enough.

in an ideal world,packages just compile on any system out-of-the-box…

in the real world,even “standard”c apis are not standard enough,and there are a lot of custom ones…:-/

there are really high hopes,that leopard will make osx more similiar to common *bsd and solaris systems
